About Smoky Mountain Pancake House
Smoky Mountain Pancake House has been family-owned since 1968, and honestly, you can taste the difference in those made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes. We always go for the Reese's Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip ones — they're ridiculous in the best way. The Mountain Blueberry are solid too, though nothing beats that peanut butter combo when you're craving something indulgent.
Here's the thing about timing: get there right when they open at 8am on weekdays or 7am on weekends, because the line gets crazy once tourist traffic picks up on the Parkway. We learned this the hard way last summer when we showed up at 11am and waited 30 minutes just to get seated.
The location is super convenient — it's at 4050 Parkway right before traffic light #10, with plenty of parking which is a miracle in Pigeon Forge. They close at 1pm every day though, so don't expect lunch. Just breakfast and brunch.
Fair warning: recent reviews mention the quality has gotten inconsistent and prices have gone up quite a bit. We haven't been back since fall to verify, but it's worth knowing before you drive over. The casual diner vibe is still there, and they do have gluten-free options if you need them.
Oh and they take credit cards and do takeout now, which is handy when the wait gets long on weekend mornings.
