About Smoky’s Pancake Cabin
Smoky's Pancake Cabin has been family-owned for three generations, and you can tell the minute you walk in. We always go straight for the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes because honestly, they're what this place is famous for. The sweet-tangy combo hits different when you're in the mountains, and the portions are huge enough that our kids usually share one order. Fair warning: they close at 1pm sharp, which catches a lot of people off guard who roll up expecting late lunch. We learned this the hard way on our second visit. If you show up around 8am on weekends, you're already looking at 40+ people inside — the place fills up fast because locals know it's legit. The Lemon Berry pancakes are solid too, but honestly, once you've tried the pineapple ones it's hard to order anything else. They also claim to have the best Biscuits & Gravy in town, which is a bold statement in Tennessee, but we haven't tried them yet because pancakes. Their parking lot is right there on the Parkway, which saves you from that nightmare of finding street parking during peak season. One thing we love is that they take cards now, unlike some of the old-school mountain places. The staff has been there forever and remembers regulars, which gives it that small-town feel even though you're right in tourist central on the main strip.
