About Smokin Banjo
Smokin' Banjo sits right on the Parkway near the aquarium, and honestly, it's our go-to spot when we want something different from the usual wine experience. They make stuff you won't find anywhere else — like their Sweet Heat Hard Cider that somehow balances spicy and fruity without being gimmicky. The Granny Smith Hard Cider runs $21.99 and tastes like fall in a bottle.
What we love is how the staff actually knows their products. Josh walked us through everything during our last visit, explaining why their Wicked Grape Wine tastes so different from typical grape varieties. They're not just pouring samples — they're genuinely excited about these weird flavors they're creating.
The place opens at 10 AM daily, which is perfect if you want to beat the Strip crowds. We've learned to avoid the 1-5 PM window on weekends when downtown gets absolutely packed. Parking's the usual Gatlinburg nightmare during peak times, but you can walk to the other Wine Trail spots from here since three of them are within 400 feet of each other.
Their Strawberry Daiquiri Wine Slush Mix sounds touristy but it's actually really good for parties back home. The Cotton Candy wine at $24.99 is either going to be your new obsession or something you try once and never again — there's no middle ground with their experimental stuff.
One thing though — don't come expecting traditional wines. If you're looking for a classic Chardonnay or Cabernet, you'll be disappointed. But if you want to try Blueberry Honey Wine or Peach Bubbles, this is your place.
