About The Escape Game Gatlinburg
We've done all five escape rooms at The Escape Game and honestly, Prison Break is still our favorite even though it's the hardest one they offer. You start in separate jail cells and have to work together to break out through multiple rooms — the set design feels like you're actually in a movie. The Depths is gorgeous too if you want something underwater-themed, but don't expect it to be easier.
Here's the thing about booking: weekdays are your best bet for getting a private room with just your group. Weekends and busy seasons, you might get paired with strangers if your team isn't big enough to fill all 8 spots. Some people love the collaboration, but if you're planning a date night or family bonding time, that shared experience can be awkward.
The whole thing takes about 90 minutes when you factor in the briefing and debrief time, not just the 60-minute game. They're really good about giving hints through your game master — don't be stubborn about asking for help because there's no penalty. We've watched too many groups get stuck on the first puzzle for 20 minutes when a quick hint would've kept things moving.
Location-wise, it's right across from the Skylift, so parking can be a nightmare during peak times. We usually hit up one of the Parkway garages and walk the couple blocks rather than circling for street parking. At $45ish per person, it's pricier than some Gatlinburg attractions, but the production value shows where your money went.
