TSM Quick Take
Worth it for you?
SkyCenter is the main mountaintop lodge at Gatlinburg SkyPark, serving as a comfortable hub for food, drinks, restrooms, and souvenirs after you ride the SkyLift up Crockett Mountain. It's a great fit for families, couples, and anyone wanting to enjoy the SkyBridge, SkyDeck, and panoramic Smoky Mountain views, with SkyCenter providing indoor seating and amenities. The experience is especially appealing for those seeking scenic photos, a place to relax between activities, or a warm spot during colder weather. The main drawback is the price, as SkyPark admission is among Gatlinburg's higher-ticket attractions, and you can't access SkyCenter without buying a SkyPark ticket. Crowds can be heavy during peak times, and visitors with a strong fear of heights or major mobility limitations may find the journey challenging.

About SkyCenter
The yellow chairlift ride up to SkyPark is half the fun — you're basically floating 1,800 feet above Gatlinburg for 10 minutes, and we always spot deer or wild turkeys on the way up. Once you reach the top, that 680-foot suspension bridge stretches out in front of you like something from a movie. The glass floor panels in the middle freak out half the people who try them, but the views of downtown and the Smokies are worth the wobbly knees.
One thing that surprised us — it's a lot more than just the bridge up there. They've got this whole 1.5-mile trail system that winds to Tulip Tower, plus Clayton's Landing overlook that's newer and way less crowded than the main bridge.
The food situation is solid too. Smoky Mountain Smash does decent burgers, and there's a bar called Smoky Mountain SIPS if you want to grab a drink and watch the sunset. Fair warning though — everything shuts down fast when weather rolls in, and those afternoon thunderstorms come out of nowhere in the mountains.
If you're local to Sevier or Cocke County, mark January 9-11 on your calendar. They're doing $5 admission for residents with ID, which is a steal since regular prices are way higher. Just bring that ID because they actually check.
The whole experience takes about 2-3 hours if you do everything, but honestly we've spent entire afternoons up there just hanging out by the fire pits. Pack a light jacket — it's always 10 degrees cooler than downtown, even in July.
