About Tremont Lodge & Resort
We've stayed at Tremont Lodge & Resort multiple times, and it's become our go-to spot when we want peace without sacrificing convenience. This family-owned boutique resort sits on 10 acres in Townsend, just 2 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance.
The 130 rooms and suites are genuinely well-maintained, and we love that they're constantly upgrading things. Our kids go straight for the outdoor pool and hot tub after long hiking days. The mountain views from certain rooms are stunning - definitely worth requesting when you book.
Fair warning: the walls between rooms can be thin, so if you're a light sleeper, pack earplugs. We've also noticed the pool heating can be inconsistent during shoulder seasons.
What sets this place apart is the location on Townsend's "Peaceful Side." You're minutes from Cades Cove but far from the Gatlinburg chaos. The staff genuinely cares - they've called us before arrival to share local recommendations.
They're adding pickleball courts and putt-putt soon, which should make it even better for families. Honestly, it's our favorite base camp for exploring the Smokies without the tourist crowds.
