parkgrillgatlinburg.comAbout The Park Grill
The Park Grill sits right at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which means you'll literally walk past it on your way into the most visited national park in America. We've eaten here probably a dozen times over the years, and honestly, it's become our go-to spot when we want something nicer than the usual Gatlinburg tourist fare but don't want to drive all over town looking for parking.
Their salad bar is genuinely impressive — not just iceberg lettuce and croutons, but fresh vegetables, fruits, and house-made dressings that actually taste like someone cares. The Certified Angus Beef steaks are solid, though you're definitely paying tourist prices. What we love is that kids eat for $1 times their age, so our 8-year-old costs us $8, which takes some of the sting out of the $30+ entrees.
The new Timber Tales thing with Gatlin Bear is cute if you've got little ones. Our daughter was obsessed with it last time we went.
Here's the thing though — parking fills up fast because everyone heading into the park sees it, and weekend dinner waits can hit 45 minutes easy. We've learned to either go for an early lunch around noon or make a reservation through their website (not OpenTable, which trips people up). The dining room gets pretty loud when it's packed, so don't expect a romantic quiet dinner on a Saturday night. But for what it is — a solid mountain lodge restaurant that doesn't feel like a complete tourist trap — it works for us.
