About SkyLand Ranch

We discovered SkyLand Ranch during a quieter week in Sevierville, and it's honestly a nice break from the Dollywood crowds. The Wild Stallion mountain coaster is legitimately the longest in the Southeast at 1.25 miles, and you control your own speed which makes it fun for both thrill-seekers and nervous riders. Fair warning though — the place took a hit from a fire in February 2026 that destroyed two barns, so there's some obvious damage in the upper areas and the chairlift isn't running right now.

The new WagonWheeler swing tower is pretty impressive if you're not afraid of heights. It's supposedly Tennessee's tallest, and the views of the Smokies are worth the ride. They also added this observation tower called Legacy Lookout recently.

What we love about this place is how it mixes rides with just hanging out — there are miniature animals the kids can visit, and they usually have live music going. Since the fire though, you'll need to walk up to some areas instead of taking the scenic chairlift, which honestly is a bit of a hike. The mountain coaster runs until 11pm while everything else closes at 9, so plan accordingly.

Budget around $50-60 per person if you want the full experience. The coaster alone is $15-20 per ride, and their food trucks and cafes aren't cheap. Oh and parking at the base is free, which is nice since you're already spending enough on everything else.
