About Wild Wing Cafe
Wild Wing Cafe sits on East Emory Road and does exactly what you'd expect from a wings joint — they've got 30+ flavors ranging from your standard Buffalo to stuff like Hot Shots that we always order as a side. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly, which is clutch if you're one of those people who brings their lab everywhere. Oh and the fried mushrooms are actually better than half the wings, don't sleep on those.
Big screens everywhere for sports, and they get pretty packed during UT games so plan accordingly. We've learned to get there by 5:30 on weekends or you're looking at a solid wait. The live music on weekends is hit or miss — sometimes it's a local band that's actually good, other times it's a DJ playing the same classic rock playlist every sports bar cycles through.
Service slows to a crawl when it gets busy, which happens more than it should. The app is your friend for curbside pickup, especially during football season when half of Powell seems to descend on this place. Full menu cuts off at 10pm and switches to their Late Nite Bites thing, so don't roll up at 10:30 expecting the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger.
It's ranked like 5th out of 52 restaurants in Powell, which honestly sounds about right — solid but not earth-shattering. The wings come out crispy most of the time, though we've had a few questionable pieces over the years that made us wonder what exactly we were eating.
